HD RADIO PRICES
First thing I see is 182 HD stations in Florida, a lot of which are new country music stations and oldies, which I love. Sounds cool. Hey, does Alabama have any? But more importantly…how much does it cost?? Oh my goodness! Did i just see a $5000 yamaha home theater? Och! My eye!! My eye!! Car radio updates start from $150. That’s a pretty penny.
So, um… tell me WHY i should buy another radio that’s probably more expensive than my first? Or are you going to force me to buy it by phasing out regular radio just like TV is doing? Oops! I spoke too soon.
I checked out hdradio.com. You know what my favorite part of this website is? A picture of a pretty girl lying down on her couch in front of her lap. She has a credit card in her hand (presumably ready to buy this stuff) and she has a huge smile. I don’t blame her. If I got a couple of thousands for lying on my couch holding credit cards, I’d smile too.
Okay, okay, so maybe I sound like I’m from Stonehenge. So what?
HD radio is digital radio. Good because its supposed to clearer. Radio bouncing off of objects like buildings cause static in normal analog radio. Evidently, digital sorts through that and edits the noise. Cool. More channels, you tell me. Better channels, you say. mm…. Hurry Hurry! Prices are plummeting! At $200 a radio, I’m scared to think what a radio cost before. Well, at least there are no monthly access fees so reception is free. But, wait!!! SO IS ANALOG.
Okay, seriously…. If you want info, just google hd radio.
